Craggy Wood - Staveley

Craggy Wood - Staveley

By Benn Jones

Description: Wood on a hillside. A circular walk through the wood, returning to the road by Barley Bridge. Half way through the wood there are rope swings attached to a big tree. Each swing has a bit of wood to sit on.

Suitable for all ages but not suitable for disabled or buggies.

No toilets or cafe up in the wood but when you get back into Staveley village there are toilets and a cafe, as well as a Spar which is open  from 9am - 9pm and a newsagents called the Beehive.

There is no cost to enter the wood.

I have a good walk, a climb and a play on the rope swings.  I enjoy the rope swings most.

In Staveley there is also Riverside walk, it is soon going to have disabled access, it also has a park to play in. The park has a swing, climbing frame and a tunnel.
